About Shayna
Shayna Real is an NCCPA board-certified physician assistant with a strong interest in women’s health and surgical medicine.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut and completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where her clinical training helped shape her path in women’s health.
Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Shayna worked as a patient care associate at Hartford Hospital’s Emergency Department in Hartford Connecticut where she gained hands-on experience.
She currently works with urogynecologist Dr. Cathy Dahl. Shayna takes a patient-centered approach and strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel involved in their care. Outside of work, she enjoys working out, being outdoors, baking, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.
